Back from 5.5 days of Hall X FOC!!! It was tiring of course, since we only got about 3-4 hours of sleep everyday. But overall, I must admit that it was fun and really enjoyable. Initially during day 1/2 I had the feeling that ADM FOC was better. Maybe it was because I haven't really warmed up to the people, and initial mood would always be abit sian for every camp. Even though our OG was rather big (about 30 people), I'm glad that I made friends with every one of them and that they were all fun and nice people :)
Just a brief summary of events,
First day was typical ice breaking games, but luckily there was masking tape with our names on to save the day. There were also field games like telematches that were pretty interesting. At night, needless say, INITIATION. The smelliest, dirtiest, and most unforgettable experience. We were blindfolded throughout and we crawled/rolled through a pool of mess of what seemed to be made up of soya sauce, vinegar, instant noodles, eggs and etc. I'd rather not know of haha.
I threw away that set of clothes finally. By then it was about... 4 or 5am. x_x
Second day was beach games! One of my fav because I love going to the beach and being under the sun. Games were ok, going into the sea felt good. Haven't done it in a long time!
I can't remember what else we did that night.
Third day was amazing race which I heard started off with a dragon boat race. But damn, I missed it :( All because I went for ADM's welcome ceremony. I thought that it'll be something interesting and informative, but I ended up dozing off during the series of boring talks. The only part that made my trip worth while was seeing my ADM friends again and.. refreshments. haha.
I joined my og later at night together with other HSS people who went for their ceremony as well. Games that I played were pretty boring honestly, and I really dislike games that require you to run around everywhere in search of something. Luckily, we caught the last bus back to school!
Fourth day was pool games, which was one of my favourite part of FOC. Quidditch was quite an exciting game, and the best part is... I was the only person among the 2 competing ogs to win Bridge! Awesomeeee. But you know why? Because it was REVERSE scissors paper stone haha! And I suck so badly at the normal scissors paper stone, therefore I won.
We also did the confidence jump, which was jumping off a 5m diving platform about 3 storeys high. From the ground I thought it looked rather low and no kick. But I had to eat my words when I was up there on the edge and looking down. It totally felt like suicide, but the feeling of falling and diving into the deep pool for that few short seconds was really ecstatic.
At night, we had SP interaction time. We were blindfolded, and the moment I held my SP's hand, I knew that he was a fatty dude. What's worse, he openly confessed that his traffic light colour is purple. :O I know it's wrong to discriminate or hate him because he's fat and gay, but honestly... if it was your SP, how would you feel?
Moving on, final day! We went to the botanical gardens for our SP night. Firstly, my original SP ran away, so in the end I paired with a guy from my og who's partner didn't turn up either. Thank goodness. Almost everyone was dressed rather glamorously or at least semi-formal. And then.. they had games, in a grass field. omg. I jumped a skipping rope and hop scotch in wedges. Amazing! After the games we had a buffet, and sadly the band performance failed and so was cancelled. :/ Headed back to hall and had our campfire plus og performances! Compared to this, ADM FOC's finale was definintely more owning. The og performances were rather lame actually, but just for entertainment. Apart from that there was just prize giving. ADM had performances and the crazy transformed club. Ok so after we break camp, beretta gathered to drink. Accompanied by games of course. Well so overall it was really fun and everyone was really high. I couldn't even be bothered to bathe because I was so tired and blur when we decided to end at 5.30am. Crashed in bed and finally back home the next day!
Hmm hmm so I think my skin became one shade darker than it was. I like. Tomorrow's the start of school and I'm not really looking forward.. 8 months of holiday just passed so quickly and now the thought of starting school again hasn't set in. I just hope that my classmates would be nice and friendly people, and that I would be able to manage my uni life well. So far, I think all my prayers have been answered and all's going well. All the best to everyone and myself for a new term in life!
