I'm back from ADM FOC!!!
I decided I'd better blog while it's still fresh and kicking in my mind. Well so overall, the past 5 days have been really fun and ADM is just.. wow. I think I'm starting to love my school already. Hope I'm not speaking too soon. The theme for this FOC was something tribal-ish.. jungle-safari? I thought it was so typical, boring and barbaric, but the set up, effort put into making all the wonderful props just changed my mindset totally. It's amazing, and they stuck closely to the theme throughout. What can you expect from an art school?
I'm thankful for my wonderful OG, sky. Great people who are lots of fun. Without them the whole orientation would have just been so darn boring, and we wouldn't have won the best OG in games.
Honestly, it just beats JC orientation.
Day 1. Ice breaker games, blind folds, and the thing which I found most exciting. The traditional man-made soapy water slide. Awesome. We slept over at Aloha Changi chalet by the way.
Day 2. Amazing race with cool clues and a fun but tiring time walking around. We barely ran, but still got first anyway. Are we good or what. (Y)
Day 3. Bash night performance shopping and prep, followed by sports games in the muddy field. Stepping other people's balloons, modified softball and ultimate frisbee! Once again, we won. Had a horribly long movie marathon at night starting from 10+ pm all the way till 4am or so. In between we got called out for SP night in the 'haunted' ADM basement. 2 girls and 1 guy?! lol. Anyway, I really appreciated the effort put into trying to scare us with cool props and stuff, but I'm sorry I wasn't scared enough. Slept at 4am that night :(
Day 4. Paint ball war! I love our colourful t-shirts. So uniquely ADM. But hell it took a LONG and HARD time to wash the paint off your skin. I practically had to scratch it off my skin till it's red and painful. But nope, still there, and I've got blue highlights on my hair as well. Wonderful.
Bash night prep again all the way till the night. Ohhh and finally a nice buffet dinner.
Bash night was actually quite amazing. Deco was good, performances and costumes by all the OGs were good and entertaining. The disco session after that was totally ecstatic.
I guess letting yourself loose like that once in a while is kinda fun. And dancing around with your entire bunch of enthusiastic OG mates just makes it even better. Played indian poker at 3am, had cup noodle supper and to our sleeping bags at 5.30am. Cool?
Day 5. All good things come to an end. I love how our OG is bonded and everyone are friends with everyone. Some thank yous and had lunch with my OG in canteen one, then cabbed home with cousin and a fellow tampines dwelling OG mate.
The feeling of returning home is of course great, but I kinda miss the excitement and energy from camp. Totally knocked out in bed for a measly half an hour so I should head to my comfy queen bed now!
I'm looking forward to hall FOC already.
